Merge
editThis article is redundant with the much more complete article restoration ecology, covering the same topic and scope. I propose that ecosystem restoration be merged into restoration ecology. Merger discussion is at Talk:Restoration ecology. -- BlueCanoe (talk) 18:44, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Alternative thought: I suggest that the two terms are crucially different. Ecosystem restoration is best defined as the activity (spontaneous, unaided, ecosystem function or as aided by human intervention--most commonly thought of as solely the latter) that actually restores damaged or destroyed ecosystems, while restoration ecology is best defined as the study of the phenomena and applications which produce ecosystem restoration.
