Speedy Deletion
editThe reason I tagged this article for Speedy Deletion is because all footnote sources lead back to the main wikipage. The person seems credible, but there are no sources what-so-ever to back it up. Beano (talk) 06:53, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi
I don't understand. Do you mean the sources I have included in the text? They were to all sorts of places when I wrote them. Can you explain what's wrong so I can put it right? Perhaps I have blundered somehow. Thanks for your help. Les woodland (talk) 07:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)les woodland
- This speedy tag is utterly inappropriate in so many ways. First of all category R1 no longer exists and you should be using G8. Secondly, the page is not a redirect as claimed by the tag, let alone a redirect to an innapropriate place. Thirdly, the footnotes do not lead to the main page (at least the couple I bothered to check) as claimed in the statement above. In any case, lack of, citations is not a valid reason for speedy deletion as far as I know. It is certainly not CSD:R1 in any case. Take it to AfD if you want it deleted and discuss this properly or else withdraw the tag. SpinningSpark 09:07, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, I deleted it myself. SpinningSpark 09:16, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I was worried for a while. It takes a bit of time, knowledge and research to write even a cycling article and it'd be a shame to see it vanish moments later. Tuvalu, by the way, is an idyllic place in the South Pacific. It has everything going for it except that it is literally only a couple of metres above high tide level. When the ice caps melt, it is forecast to be the first country to entirely disappear. Completely irrelevant additional fact: people on Tuvalu speak English and a pidgin language based on English; in that pidgin, the word for a bra is a tittybasket. Once learned, never forgotten. The page seems fine now. I don't know; all of the sources before went back to the main page; I checked them all. It could have been a browser error. I even told les that the page was well created. Anyways, sorry. Beano (talk) 20:57, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
