Notability?

edit

Notability of this article is questionable; though I have withdrawn speedy deletion template due to uncertainty about how notable the Edinburgh Skeptics are. Opinions, please? smileguy91talk 02:54, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Edinburgh Skeptics are certainly notable internationally within the Skeptical community and throughout Scotland through the local press. Whether that qualifies them as notable for Wiki purposes I don't know :S Endless psych (talk) 03:08, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Edinburgh Skeptics are one of the most prominent Skeptical groups within the UK and possibly the busiest Grassroots skeptical groups internationally.

They organise and run longest free festival of science and skepticism in the world.

They have been nominated for two awards for their work and have appeared in the national press in Scotland and the UK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Endless psych (talkcontribs) 03:03, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Awards/refs

edit

I took out this ref: Skeptic Magazine Ockham nomination 2012, because the page relates to the 2011 awards, and doesnt mention Edinburgh Skeptics. I couldn't find a reference to the 2012 nominations on The Skeptic website. Thanks, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 15:29, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Complete Revision

edit

I am currently revising this page. The Ockham nomination and subsequent award in 2013 will be re added with correct citations and photos. The Society are based in the capital of Scotland and are prominent activists who organise national events. Relevant press citations and campaign results will also be added during the revamp. Please let me know if there are any other concerns I can address while I update the page. Thanks. Joolzzt (talk) 05:40, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
