"Living room" pre-dates Bok
editI've removed the claim from the lede that he "coined" the term "living room". It might be reasonable to report that some people give him such credit, but it should not be repeated as fact, as earlier examples of the term are easy to come by. For instance, this one dated 1851, several years before Bok was born. - IMSoP (talk) 17:20, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

editI read this book at the library Bok, Edward William (1922). The Americanization of Edward Bok: The Autobiography of a Dutch Boy Fifty Years After. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. ISBN 978-0-7222-8996-9.
and there is a picture of his rather large house in Merion PA and the caption says "named swastika by rudyard kipling" and ??
