Edward Stopford (priest)Edward Stopford (priest, born 1810) – Ambiguous with Edward Stopford (bishop) as all Anglican bishops are priests. Use of the birth year for disambiguation is necessary here per WP:NCPDAB as including the nationality and/or denomination would not aide with disambiguation. 142.160.89.97 (talk) 07:17, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Hhkohh (talk) 13:10, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
So what makes the son the primary topic for "Edward Stopford (priest)"? 142.160.89.97 (talk) 21:12, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
There's no conflict between the two article titles (the bishop's article would not be titled with "priest" even if there were no other article about a cleric), so primary topic is irrelevant. In the very unlikely event someone lands on this very lightly viewed article[1] looking for the bishop, they just have to read to the second sentence, or click on the newly-added hatnote. Lengthening the title to add the extremely obscure birth year of the already obscure priest benefits no one. However, if we really need to change the title, it should be Edward Adderley Stopford, as shown in at least 3 different sources used in the article, per WP:NATURAL. I'm not opposed to that.
