Education

"He obtained first class honours in Classical Moderations in 1897 and first class honours in Lit. Hum. in 1899. In that same year, Stubbs also received his B.A. ."

This is all the same thing. Mods are one round of exams. The BA will represent his Lit. Hum. Samgra 08:42, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edward StubbsReginald Edward Stubbs – An online search indicates that he was very frequently known as "Sir Reginald Stubbs", "Sir Edward Stubbs", or "Sir Reginald Edward Stubbs" - all three are approximately equally frequent, with hits for "Sir Edward Stubbs" boosted by pages obviously scraped from Wikipedia. If we cannot be sure which of his forenames was primary, the securest solution is to use both. • Oppose. His entry in Who's Who, which he would have written himself, lists him as "Stubbs, Sir (Reginald) Edward", which suggests Edward was the name he actually used. His obituary in The Times calls him Sir Reginald Stubbs, although he is referred to in other articles as Sir Edward Stubbs. I think the evidence definitely points to Edward being his preferred and common name. Certainly not his full name, which obviously appears in official documents but would not have been his commonly used name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:18, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
