Manookian
editI created this page and uploaded both illustrations, primarily because of McClellan's role in Manookian's career. I don’t mind your adding to or correcting the page. However, I do strongly object to your deleting material, unless you have reason to believe it is false. Wmpearl (talk) 01:54, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's incredibly inappropriate to hold on article hostage for the sake of another, and in this case, a violation of Wikipedia:Coatrack. This is also a problem with non-neutral POV, WP:SOAP, and for you, WP:OWN. The article is about McClellan, not about Manookian. Unless you can reference that the relationship between the two was significant and well beyond that of a superior and subordinate, or even just a close friendship (i.e. a professional partnership or otherwise affecting more lives than just thiers), then it's not significant enough for an encyclopedic entry. For an example of this done right, look at Paris Hilton: she's a celebrity with dozens of friends, but they aren't highlighted, merely linked to thier articles when mentioned where appropriate. You don't see biographical info about Nicole Richie on that article, just a link to her own article.
- I can't believe I just referenced Hilton as a positive example... ugh. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 13:11, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
The article is not being held hostage by me, it is being censored by you. You appear to be of the opinion that only you are qualified to determine what is worthy of Wikipedia. The notion that each statement in an article must not only be referenced as a previously published and verifiable fact, but also referenced to verify its importance, is an entirely new concept to me.

- It's not opinion, it's policy. If you are unfamiliar with the Policies and guidelines, that is not my fault. They are there to govern what is and is not appropriate for Wikipedia, and articles must fall in line with them. You need to familiarize yourself with them. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 13:00, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
