This chap is not American, and I find no references to Edwin T Hall that are not likely derived from this Wikipedia entry. Therefore I propose to change his name to Edwin Thomas Hall (done), and his son remains Edwin Stanley Hall, as less incongruous and more likely proper names. E.T. Hall would be another option, but it appears not to have been his styling. There is no evidence to suggest he was known as anything other than Edwin Hall, which would have been the default, and using his middle name is just to diffferentiate him from his son and others of similar name.
