The Rwandan genocide began in 1994 when members of the Hutu ethnic majority in Rwanda planned to wipe out the ethnic minority, the Tutsi. About 800,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu people were killed and many more were displaced from their homes. The Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) had infiltrated the country from the north prior to the genocide. During the genocide, the RPF worked to stop the extremist Hutu movements. [1]

Hello - Please wait to flag this article for deletion until there is a final round of editing and improvement to eliminate the tone of original research. I have worked extensively with the author on issues of source quality and research. I believe if you can give us until the end of semester, it will be improved to keep.
