Full impeachment inquiry page
editHello all! Though I was the person who originally flagged this page with AFD, I know many have discussed - and I largely agree with the idea of - keeping the page up and waiting before making any specific decision. With that being said, I believe the page needs to be fleshed out more. I have added a "Background" section, and am going to add a "Reactions" section. If we want this page to parallel the page for Impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump, the only full page for an impeachment inquiry, this would be the format. Please feel free to contribute any thoughts. PickleG13 (talk) 01:44, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- How can there be an impeachment inquiry against Biden already? He was just inaugurated yesterday! If anything this should be merged with Efforts to impeach Joe Biden until it becomes more real. SeanWheeler (talk) 03:54, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete: Just because articles of impeachment are introduced doesn't automatically warrant it having its own page. If that were the case, we would have numerous 'impeachment inquiry' pages for Donald Trump since articles were introduced against him every year of his presidency. TheSubmarine (talk) 04:07, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
:Delete: As noted above, agree it should just be left in the Efforts to impeach Joe Biden page.FrogCrazy (talk) 11:25, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
@FrogCrazy: @TheSubmarine: Your stances on deletion are supposed to be posted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden. Please add them there. SecretName101 (talk) 16:51, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks @SecretName101:, I probably shouldn't be editing at 3am my time... struck out and moved to the appropriate location. FrogCrazy (talk)
What the !Votes mean - Discussion
editSo we need to have a discussion on what exactly the !votes mean. After reading the current discussion, it will be either a delete or a merge. I have read a lot of options, so let us vote which option we mean instead of having multiple variations of the !Votes. (If you do not understand the context, please see the Afd. I was told not to post that in the Afd, but instead post it here. Confused since it is related to the Afd, but whatever.)
For the "Delete" !Votes
edit- Option 1 - Delete with mention on Efforts to impeach Joe Biden.
- Option 2 - Delete without mention in Efforts to impeach Joe Biden.
- Option 3 - Delete all materials about it except for a section on Presidency of Joe Biden. (No matter what the Afd decides, this will have a mention there as it is part of his presidency.)
For the "Merge" !Votes
edit- Option 1 - A full merge of all content into Efforts to impeach Joe Biden.
- Option 2 - A merge to Efforts to impeach Joe Biden without listed/summarizing what the impeachment articles are.
- Option 1 as the articles are important to summarize so people understand and know what they are. Elijahandskip (talk) 23:59, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
Option one to merge SRD625 (talk) 17:45, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Number of articles of impeachment
editRep. Greene's House Resolution includes exactly one (1) article of impeachment, titled "Abuse of Power".[1] Rep. Greene issued a press release in support of her House Resolution that includes six (6) bullet points.[2] Unfortunately, Skb7 has repeatedly confused the number of bullet points in Rep. Greene's press release with the number of articles in the impeachment resolution. If Wikipedia is going to say that there are six (6) articles of impeachment, we're going to need something better than Rep. Greene's press release and tweets linking to it. Also, any news story from January 21 that lists a number of articles is not usable as a source unless the news article states that they have see the text of the legislation, because the text was not immediately available and news sources may have been confused, as Skb7 still is. There may actually be a meta-story about confusion over the number of articles of impeachment, but the number is still one (1).
