There are many types of alligator thrers the raptor, unger and Sangor Named aliigators. Most of these names are rather cryptical and bogus. It seems the park's management was simply unable to think of fitting names for the four areas, since the park was never built with this division in mind. Differently themed rides are all over the park, not at all situated in the most applicable realms. The only area that seems to fit its name, at least a bit, is 'Ruigrijk' (Rough Realm, literally), where most fast rides like the double-loop coaster 'Python' (1981) are located.

Whether the realm names make sense or not is a matter of opinion. I especially object to the word bogus. I'll rewrite this part and try to make it more NPOV. - Lunapuella

That link at the bottom of the page might refer to a very popular site, it's mainly dedicated to the toilets in the park.

Actually, the website started as a review site about the park's toilets (based not just on hygiene but also how well the toilets are 'themed'). The site grew in popularity and also started to include generic Efteling news, stories, park photographs, gossip and rumours. It is now one of the most popular websites among dutch Efteling fans.Felsir 11:04, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Imagineering"

edit

Is it appropriate to use the term "imagineering" and "imagineer" in this article, as that is the term for Disney engineers and designers, and specifically Disney...

I think it's even trademarked by Disney, so I guess not 81.71.36.212 13:21, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
In the text, the term is surrounded by 'single quotes', so I think it's pretty clear that these are not actually imagineers but can very well be compared to imagineers. Whether or not the term is trademarked is not relevant, the use does not violate trademark law. Tkinkhorst 11:14, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Slot

edit

The translation for the word "slot" should be castle, not house or mansion. I hope my changes in this matter can count on approval.

I think keep would be more acurate Dedden 21:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, keep refers to the central fortified tower in medieval strongholds. ('Donjon' in Dutch) The Efteling attraction is not a stronghold in any case I'd say.

Anton Pieck sqaure revision

edit

I suggest deleting "anton pieck square revision" (2003) from the ride index since it isn't one.Magafuzula 19:44, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

When looking through the ride list, the sheer quantity of repeated links makes the whole paragraph look blue. I suggest, as per the guidelines (What generally should not be linked), cleaning this up and only leave 1 link per string. Eg, ~Dutch~ and designers can have 1 link in the beginning of the listMagafuzula (talk) 11:01, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

still too chaotic. I'm gonna play around with that list a bit more, benchmark or so. Magafuzula (talk) 10:31, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Where's "Edit"?

edit

The page always had a lot of "edit" buttons floating half way through the page. I thought to solve that by bringing the images inline with the paragraphs, thus showing the edit button again. However, now the edit buttons have disapeared altogether? Anybody? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magafuzula (talkcontribs) 14:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

got it, needs to be tweaked a bit more Magafuzula (talk) 14:37, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

1953 opening?

edit

I've done some research on the sisterpages in other languages as well as other sources, but absolutely nowhere can be found that in 1953 the park was opened by "an official". I found out that it was opened officially by the municipality in 1952 and that's all. No way that the central government would send an official with the park being so small at that time. I suggest deleting the option of the 1953 opening; it will not be verifiable in any case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magafuzula (talkcontribs) 14:26, 8 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Efteling?

edit

In Dutch this park’s name is consistently preceded by an article (de Efteling). This is not part of the park’s proper name and thus should not be in the title of the article, but is there a reason why the article itself calls it simply “Efteling” and not “the Efteling”? Is this a grammatical rule I’m not aware of?

For reference, this is not done for all theme parks in Dutch—no one calls Disneyland “the Disneyland”. It’s just customary to use articles with some proper nouns, such as this one. mountainhead / ? 20:27, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
