World Record in distance
editUntitled
editFoley's record was actually beaten two decades ago, when Finnish javelin thrower Jyrki Blom threw an unboiled egg 99.8 m (327 ft 5 in) away to be caught intact by coach Tapio Viinanen in Anjalankoski, Finland on May 24, 1989. The record was included in the Guinness Finnish editions 1990 (including photo) thru 2001 (the last edition to feature national records), but appears to have been omitted from the international editions – bizarrely resulting in the 2000 edition (and perhaps others) having Foley's record on page 48, and Blom's on 245. --Anshelm '77 (talk) 03:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
