I request that Ehelepola Wijesundara’s name to be correctly written to reflect the his name inscription scribed on the 5th casket of the Temple of Tooth relic. The 5th casket was donated by Ehelepola Wijesundara and he had his full name inscribed on the casket. Please see the official post by Dalada Maligawa page as reference.Dalada Maligawa is the current bearer of the 5th casket donated by him.

Ehelepola Wijesundara inscribed his full name as Ehelepola Wijesundara Wickramasinghe Chandrasekera Amarakoon.

What the name used with the original article creation was:
Ehelapola Wijesundara Wickremasinghe Chandrasekara Amarakoon Wasala Mudiyanse
What the article at this time uses:
Ehelapola Senevirathne Senanayake Chandrathilake Wijesundara Dissanayake Amarakoon Wasala Panditha Mudiyanse
What the source gives:
Ehelepola Wijesundara Wikramasinha Chandrasekara Amarasekera Wasala
What you have been adding:
Ehelepola Wijesundara Wickramasinghe Chandrasekera Amarakoon
I could see using the second name, but I am not certain about the third name.
Is there anything derogatory about the current name? Adakiko (talk) 00:42, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Cossde: as the article creator, can you shed light on this? Adakiko (talk) 00:47, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Adakiko,
Adding names such as Senevirathne Senanayake Chandrathilake Dissanayake Wasala Panditha Mudiyanse is very disrespectful toward Ehelepola Wijesundara. Its safe to assume that he knew his full name better than anyone else and had it inscribed correctly on the 5th casket. The other names are added to achieve ulterior motives by other people, such as to gain respectful status for their own surnames. Maha kalu sinhalaya (talk) 07:05, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I collapsed the image as it makes viewing the discussion difficult. The small text made reading difficult. Change the caption if you wish.
He had his name engraved on his casket? Do you have a source for that?
Facebook is generally considered an unreliable source see wp:FACEBOOK and WP:RSPFACEBOOK Surely there is another source, preferably multiple sources, for his name? Adakiko (talk) 07:43, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I’m assuming you have no knowledge on Dalada Maligawa or Ehelepola Wijesundara. I had taken screenshot directly from official Dalada Maligawa page. For this topic, it doesn't get any better than reference directly from the Dalada Maligawa page. I suggest you move on to a topic that you have knowledge on or a language you are proficient on.

Dalada Maligawa is the official bearer of this 7 caskets that protect lord budha scared tooth. @cossade will able to confirm this. In this instance, A official post outlining the history of the Golden caskets by the Dalada Maligawa page is the best reference you can ever source. Agreed Maha Kalu Sinhalaya. A official post from the Dalada Maligawa page is the best reference for this matter. The name should be changed to reflect what was inscribed by him on the 5th casket. Maha kalu sinhalaya, My knowledge on the topic is irrelevant. My knowledge on Wikipedia's requirement of wp:reliable sources is quite relevant. I am asking you for more citations. Dalada Maligawa could be considered a wp:primary source. Sometimes, they can be self-serving. Wikipedia prefers secondary sources. Let's have a few.
Again, I ask: cite a source that Nilame had his casket engraved. You made the claim, show me the evidence. Adakiko (talk) 08:38, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adakiko,

Please explain why you think my source of reference (Dalada Maligawa Page) is inferior to the reference for the incorrect name written on the article.

Wikipedia generally expects its editors to posses knowledge on the topic. The fact that you are constantly engaging and editing this topic without any knowledge on this matter or Sinhala language undermines what wikipedia expects from its editors.

If you read the post from Dalada Maligawa page, you will able to see that Dalada Maligawa has confirmed that he inscribed his name on the 5th casket ( “Also his name is inscribed as Ehelepola Wiesundara Wickramasinghe Chandrasekera Amarakoon”).

The reason there isn't any other sources is due to Dalada Maligawa restricting access to the golden caskets.

Stop asking for more references as this is the only source that can be trusted to correctly confirm his details. Maha kalu sinhalaya (talk) 09:01, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

That just states his name is engraved. You stated that Nilame had his name engraved. Not the same thing. Did Nilame have his casket engraved or not?
"restricting access to the golden caskets"? That sounds like they are hiding something major. Dalada Maligawa as a source sounds suspect to me. Publications by independent researchers are needed. Perhaps the article should simply be deleted given the lack of secondary sources? Adakiko (talk) 09:11, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
You should read about Peter Popoff. Adakiko (talk) 09:14, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adakiko, don’t be so obtuse.

Clearly they restrict access cause it contains the most valuable thing to us.

His name is engraved clearly means that he had his name engraved on the 5th casket (if you don’t think it means the same, you might need an another english lesson). This is known by almost all Sri Lankans and is taught through out school and throughout sri lankan history literature (unfortunately, unavailable through online sources).

This is the reason I suggested that you move on to a different article as you have no knowledge on this matter.

Why are you soo concerned with this topic, it is clearly out of your field of knowledge. Maha kalu sinhalaya (talk) 09:32, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Cannot or will not supply other sources.
  • Ad hominem attacks.
  • Doesn't know to capitalize "Sri Lanka" or "English". Who needs an English lesson?

This discussion is over. Good luck on getting this article "fixed". Adakiko (talk) 10:00, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
