editI've cleaned up the English slightly and done some Wikifications. However, I am not at all familiar with the subject matter. I refrained from making any non-grammatical changes, but would like someone familiar with the subject matter to look it over and ensure I haven't unknowingly misunderstood and changed the meaning of anything.
Is "Italian State" synonymous with Italy?
Being an italian, I was able to correct the errors taking the info from the italian version of wikipedia:
- the taxpayer does not decide about a portion of his/her personal income tax, it is a vote about how to distribute a proportion of all income taxes raised in the country
- not all religions can be funded, only the ones signing an agreement with the Italy (yes, Italy may be used as short syn of Italian State, I think)
- not only catholics get the money from "non expressed votes", also lutherans, jews, and other non-catholic confessions
