Find correct name
The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere.
The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.
Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

The Cambridge History of China says the Portuguese launched a failed fireship attack, but had to stop when the Chinese cut their food supply, see [1]. Thanks @Zanhe:! I've come across that passage too (interestingly, the Wills chapter from the 2010 book that I cited was an updated version of the chapter he did for the Cambridge History of China), but I decided to leave it out since Sousa's source, which is a full account of the Pinhal episode, makes no mention of the fireship attack. He actually contradicts that account by saying Paulo de Portugal was specifically dissuaded from attacking Pinhal, only attacking when the Spanish were in Lampacau (beyond the eyes of Chinese officials). Now, if the Portuguese actually did attack Pinhal and the Chinese shut off Macau's food supply in response, I would put that in the "Establishment" section, replacing the sentence "It was this worry that prevented the Portuguese from attacking El Piñal outright." _dk (talk) 05:38, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
