Merge Alwaqf (markaz)
editCould someone familiar with the area (or who reads Arabic) confirm Alwaqf (markaz) refers to the same city and resolve the discrepancies in content? Otherwise a disambiguating hatnote is needed. Thanks. — RTao (talk • contribs) 17:49, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
- A markaz is a municipal division or called district in some other places is a 2nd degree subdivision type in Egypt after governorates, and it consists of a city (sometimes more) and villages, in Egypt the city usually gets the same name as the markaz. Al Waqf city is the seat and the only city in the markaz of Al Waqf, the rest being villages. I hope I have made the difference clear. Also see municipal divisons in Qena governorate.

- Support merge for the reason of short text and context. It's quite common for cities/towns and surrounding administrative districts to have one page, where the content (on this English-language project) is brief. Klbrain (talk) 19:17, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 17:34, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
