SAS
editRemoved the comment that the valley is famous for "its use as an SAS training area". No way that one can stand up without a citation. Leushenko (talk) 02:56, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Name
editShouldn’t we promote the traditional Welsh name of Cwm Elan as the title name with Elan Valley listed as an alternative? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuskyDunes (talk • contribs) 17:34, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- It's not WP's role as an encyclopaedia to 'promote' but rather to describe, based on references. I see that Cwm Elan is noted as the Welsh name for the valley but 'Elan Valley' is overwhelmingly used in English to describe the area and WP 'common name' guidance applies. As an aside, EV is probably used a great deal to refer not just to Cwm Elan but also to encompass the Claerwen valley too, the Claerwen being a tributary which is also dammed and the resultant reservoir loosely lumped in with the Elan Valley Reservoirs. cheers Geopersona (talk) 12:38, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
