Talk:Elbow dysplasia

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Hi , I have a 10 year old American lab named Bear, He ran away Christmas eve..of last year, and was gone for 3 hours and came home limping. After 5 days, I took him to our Vet, They X-ray-ed his hip and knee and said NO hip displacement or Arther also his knee was fine,.. , that was good..so they said we would treat it as soft tissue damage..with anti inflammatories. so we did...and no BALL..until we knew what was up...WELL that just about kill us all.Bear is off the meds now...and we walk him every night...I also throw the ball...let it stop and let him go after it, every other day. This keeps him from jumping and twisting his leg. HE is still limping a little...does not put full weight on foot...this is his back right leg, The next step is a MRI...we can't afford this and I don't know what to do> Do you have any advice for us...please...WE love BEAR ,,,he is a retired Bomb squad DOG...from A.A.Co. in Maryland..and I can't get any help from them ... Thank you so much (e-mail removed)

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, but we are an encyclopedia and not meant to give medical advice. There are other websites that do give medical advice, but you would probably better off either talking to your vet about other diagnostic options or getting a second opinion. I will say that if the problem is in his rear leg, it's probably not elbow dysplasia. Good luck. --Joelmills 23:29, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
