Newsweek

edit

No mention of the magazine she contributed to for 50 years? Newsweek? Seems strange as that work was the bulk of her career. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:bQFrqqvyCIQJ:www.newsweek.com/2013/09/27/magazine-was-eleanor-clift-her-50-years-newsweek-238004.html+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.72.153.178 (talk) 13:45, 21 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I changed a few things.

Originally, her views were referred to as "liberally biased." Huh? She's a liberal commentator. That's like saying The Nation is liberally biased.

Also: I'm inclined to give lots of leeway when it comes to people finding comments "controversial," but I simply cannot imagine the "controversy" referred to from those two little quotes. If you'd like to name a few sources who decry their outrageousness, do so, by all means. But their controversial nature is not self-evident. -207.237.246.109 15:48, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Listen,ehm...I *know* fur sure that mrs. clift's name used to be Eleanor Irene Roeloffs and that she is of german descent because I just discovered that I am related to her...btw I am a German myself. You can check it in "Von der Seefahrt zur Landwirtschaft" by Brar C. Roeloffs, although you might find it difficult to get such a book^^

Fair use rationale for Image:Eleanor Clift.jpg

edit

Image:Eleanor Clift.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The link to her second husband simply redirects back to Eleanor's page. There needs to be a page about him, or at least some information as to his age at death, as well as his accomplishments (if any), besides being Clift's second husband. I believe he was, like her, an active liberal, though I don't recall what specific causes he was involved with. 64.85.229.248 (talk) 07:56, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
