Proposal to merge with Townsend avalanche
editThis article and that on the Townsend avalanche are effectively about the same phenomena. The original name for such an effect is a Townsend avalanche, and is cited as such in technical descriptions; electron avalanche just being used as shorthand for the same effect. The current Townsend avalanche page has much more information about the phenomena.
Propose that this article be merged with the Townsend Avalanche under the latter name.

I agree. Comfr (talk) 06:10, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. Townsend avalanche is in a gas. Electron avalanche can be anywhere. Glrx (talk) 22:46, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
