only the Kramer theory makes it look like it is the dominant theory and approach to character in this opera. It is not, nor is it in Salome. It needs more context and contrast. Having one theorist means nothing. As in all Strauss, the psychological elements are meant to provoke and so there are many approaches and opinions. This needs to be made clear if there is to be a Criticism section. (Personally, I think that Kramer theory is so reductionist for something so emotionally deep and real.) --scazza (talk) 15:53, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Error in plot summary

"Klytaemnestra (Clytemnestra), helped by her paramour Aegisth (Aegisthus), has secured the murder of her husband, Agamemnon, and now is afraid that her guilt will be discovered by her children"

This isn't accurate. The children know about the guilt perfectly well and two of them want to kill her for it; that's the whole point of the plot. CharlesTheBold (talk) 03:12, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
