editHe is Jewish
What is the definition of "professional poker player"? He owns a chain of photo stores on the vegas strip, according to the bio pages on Doylesroom.com. This was also mentioned in the tv broadcast of the 2004 WPT Championship at the Mirage.
In the "Poker After Dark" broadcast on 2/18/2009 besides his time in the Army, he mentioned that he spent a lot of time playing poker in Alaska. Centerone (talk) 08:03, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- On "High Stakes Poker", episode 12, season 2, he said that he _started_ playing poker in Alaska as well as spent a lot of time playing. Where's the cite for he started playing whilst bedridden from an injury in the Golani Brigade? One of the cites for the page says that he started playing in high school, so either way the wiki page appears to be wrong. Chrissd21 (talk) 04:32, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Golani Brigage
editGolani IS NOT a Commando Unit, so I changed it to "military unit". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.223.80 (talk) 19:01, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Just an FYI: someone may have thought he was a "commando" because of commentators saying it on various poker broadcasts, particularly a recent episode of High Stakes Poker. Vnarfhuhwef (talk) 00:48, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- From the Commando wiki page: "In English, the term commando means a specific kind of individual soldier or military unit. In contemporary usage, commando usually means elite light infantry and/or special operations forces units". The wiki page for the Golani Brigade states that it contains two special forces battalions, and one of the citations on Eli Elezra page says that he served in one of those battalions. Ergo, he's a commando. If any of those are wrong then of course the conclusion is false, however, it does show you how it's possible that he is in fact a commando. Full tilt
editWas going to cite the full tilt table with this:[1]. But couldn't actually find the table when logged into fullTilt. I suspect the wiki article and the one I'm suggesting to cite for it is actually the "Pro" room which likely cycles with the pro who is "on-call" as it were. As of today, for example, it's Phil Ivey. Based on the lack of evidence for a permanent room, I'll be changing the tense of the sentence in question and use the above citation. Grimsooth (talk) 23:34, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Eli Elezra hatnote
editI removed the hatnote-style text :This article is about Eli Elezra, the poker player, not Eli Elezra, owner of the Elezra Holdings Group (insurances, real estate, car rental etc.) because the hatnote does not meet the requirements of WP:HATNOTE and there is no mention anywhere else in Enwiki of another El Elezra.
