One source about her death lists a maiden name as Fitzpatrick, but this seems be alone in that claim. Her death certificate his her parents with the surname Macartney, and Francis & Elinor are in the same household with Elinor's mother (Elizabeth Macartney) in the 1900 census, living at 1437 Q. St. The 1900 census lists Elinor's birth date as April 1865. Sources vary on her birth year, but it seems rather unlikely to be 1868 or 1869 as some sources claim, since she reportedly graduated from teaching school in 1882.--Milowent • hasspoken14:56, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
