Nonsense on the main page

edit

Dunlop was Irish, so why is she being described as an Australian poet? Transliteration is the changing of written text from one alphabet to another, so what alphabet is it being proposed that these songs were written in initially? This is patent nonsense that should not be anywhere near an encyclopaedia, yet alone on its main portal. Kevin McE (talk) 19:04, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for bringing this up and fixing the issue in the article; I deeply apologize for missing that when nominating the article for DYK. I was going by what the source said, as after doing a search it seemed to be a very reliable book, but it looks like it must have been a mistake by the author or something. I always try to be careful to not make mistakes like this, but looks like I missed this. Anyways, the hook has been removed now, as it looks like we're doing 12 hour intervals for DYK now to clear the backlog. I disagree with your calling this patent nonsense, however; I don't think an honest good-faith mistake due to a reliable source being incorrect would fit the strict definition of it. Anyways, putting the pedanticness (is that a word?) aside, again, I apologize about the error and thanks for noticing this.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 01:10, 22 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Just a shame that those at MP ERRORS did nothing about it, so there it sat for 12 hours. Kevin McE (talk) 01:26, 22 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
