Memorial Fountain information
editA small memorial fountain in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney Australia (not too distant from the location of James Cook's original landing place in Botany Bay) is dedicated to Elizabeth Batts Cook. I have copied the detailed "storyboard" plaque's inscription verbatim into this article, as it contains some significant details about the Cook family. Pics also added. ❮❮ GEEKSTREET Talk Lane ❯❯ 03:34, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- Could you possibly cite this information?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 16:16, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi KAVEBEAR. I would love to, but am unsure what to give as the source. The text included in the article is taken verbatim off one of the memorial plaques (see photo), but there is no author given. There is a second (dedication) plaque, shown in the second photo, which says the memorial was erected by Sutherland Shire Council & gives the names of the officials responsible & date. Is any of that usable as a citable source, or do I need to look further? What would be the ideal citation I could find? ❮❮ GEEKSTREET Talk Lane ❯❯ 23:33, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- You can use cite signs. I went ahead and entered it for you. Where did you get the information for the opening paragraph and the date it was erected?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 01:17, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- I got the lead-in info from the text written on the accompanying dedication plague, shown in this photo ...

Re the location, I was actually there on-site this week when I saw the fountain & took the pics. But there is another site I just found which talks about it, probably just what you want! Ref is here[1]
