The article claims the date of death is July 8. This is probably wrong[1], but there are too many websites which site Wikipedia with the wrong date. Eran (talk) 20:14, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Eran, thanks for bringing this up. From the newspaper sources as well as from John Barrett's World of Tennis 1980 it is clear that she died on the day of the ladies final, Friday, July 6, 1979, a day before Billie Jean King won her 20th Wimbledon title.
