Year Hastings marriage was annulled?
editThis article states that her marriage to John Hastings was annulled in "late 1383," but Alison Weir (on pp 220-1 of "Katherine Swynford: The story of John of Gaunt and his Scandalous Duchess," titled "Mistress of the Monarchy" in the US) states that the annulment was just after John of Gaunt learned that she had become pregnant by John Holland. Elizabeth and Holland married hastily on June 24, 1386 and their daughter Constance was born in 1387. Therefore, it looks like the annulment must have been in 1386, unless Weir is in error. Is there a source for the 1383 date? Rickterp (talk) 13:55, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Child born circa 1389 - Richard, Susan, or Elizabeth?
editThis page states the child born circa 1389 was a daughter named Susan (who d. September 3, 1400, unmarried); John Holland, 1st Duke of Exeter's page states the child was also a daughter, but named Elizabeth (who d. 1449 and m. Sir Ralph Fiennes); but everywhere else I've looked says the child was a son named Richard (who d. September 3, 1400, unmarried) - John Holland's page also lists him, but states only a death date (again, September 3, 1400 and unmarried). What's correct? Randee15 (talk) 23:16, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Birthplace
editIt was 'news' to me to read of her being born at Burford in Shropshire - I already know she was buried here - so I have put a citation need against the statement in the main article, as it deserves demonstration in an era preceding parish registers and civil birth registration. I have not heard of John of Gaunt or his wife ever being in Shropshire.Cloptonson (talk) 21:34, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
