Nola Jean Weaver
editAs stated in the Elk Grove Village, Illinois article.. Nola Jean Weaver, known as Jean Weaver, a teacher at Elk Grove High School convicted of murdering her husband in 1977 during an affair with another teacher at the same school
I think it should be merged in with the article, if someone can pull up some info. Briguy9876 (talk) 23:54, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree, and as well there was the Patty Columbo case in 1976. Two books were written about the case. I think one is called "Love's Blood", which I read. I attended during 68-71 and can assure you there was very bad stuff in the water at that school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.82.21 (talk) 06:37, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Fight Song
editAS a student, I can very well say the fihgt song ISNT well known. Durning pep rallies, no one sings the song, and for one simple reason: No one knows it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Briguy9876 (talk • contribs) 02:48, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
James Iha
editI would like to challenge the recent removal of James Iha from the "Notable alumni" section of the page. However, I cannot produce a source other than James' Wikipedia article. To anybody who can find a source that clearly states that James Iha attended Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, please reinstate James Iha in the "Notable alumni" section.
Also I'd like to note the reason for removal of James Iha:
"Took out James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins. He didn't attened Elk Grove High School in California but Elk Grove Vally High School in Chicago."
This article is clearly NOT about the Elk Grove High School of California, but the Elk Grove High School of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago. A Google search for the exact strings "Elk Grove Vally High School" and "Elk Grove Valley High School" yield no results whatsoever, so this is most likely an indication of a misinformed editor. However, like I said before, I cannot produce a source which states that James Iha went to EGHS, so I will abstain from putting him back on the page for the time being. Northern Illinois Connection
editFor what reason was the connection to the NIU shootings removed? It is public knowledge, published on several news and media sites, that the shooter graduated from EGHS.
Also, It should be noted that those of us students who actually pay attention would remember reading in a booklet during last year's 40th anniversary celebration that the first Grenaissance festival was held in 1966 (the year the school opened), with a second in 1967, and at both celebrations (according to said booklet published by the school itself), the school orchestra and band played the 1812 overture in the courtyard using actual cannons (no cannonballs of course).
I graduated from this school in 1976, and attended a month-long Grenaissance (founded by Richard Calisch) every year. One year we had a performance by the mime T. Daniel, who later became famous as the man behind (inside) C3PO.
It would also be relatively simple for me to get a list of those who have served as principal of the school, if it is deemed necessary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.241.56 (talk) 05:06, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I dont see why it was removed. I re-added it. And thanks for the principal info. AS for the Grenaissance thing, Your the only one who apparently has this booklet. (Im just a freshamn, I know nothing) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Briguy9876 (talk • contribs) 13:16, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
For what it's worth, Mr. Rundquist might have information aboud the school's earlier years (verifying the Grenassiance info, etc.), having been there since the school opened, but he will retire as of June 6, 2008, so contacting him might be hard (if not impossible). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.255.123 (talk) 04:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I know Mr. Runquist has beeen here since the schools opening, but I dont think Wikipedia likes the info unless a major newspaper publishes what he said. And since the local Daily Herald already put one up on him, I dont think they will do it again. Oh, and I have MR. Runqist as a math teacher, but school is almost over. --Briguy9876 (talk) 13:14, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
There are two other infamous alumni (both females) who are not mentioned. Anyone wish to add them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.96.108 (talk) 08:38, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
