The Elkins Bounce
editA term unofficially used in badminton. Official rules of badminton state that once served, the shuttlecock must not land on the floor or it is considered illegal and a point conceded. The Elkins Bounce is a term used by amateurs who are given a bounce if they are unable to make a legal shot. This also has the effect ot slowing down the game and is most beneficial to learners of badminton. Elkins (2008)
