Mary Bly's name
editI noticed that someone had changed her name to Mary Bly Vettori and then changed all references within the article from "Bly" to "Mary." Ms. Bly is married to a man named Vettori, but she is always referred to by her maiden name in articles and on her own website, so it is not appropriate to list her as Mary Vettori here. It is also common practice on wikipedia to refer to subjects in a more proper manner, so I have changed the references back to "Bly." Please discuss here before changing back. Thanks. Tone
editThe tone of this article is not very encyclopedic, so I added the 'magazine' template. For example sentences like "Mary Bly has long been surrounded by people who revere the written word" and "In a twist of irony, Bly has noted that at the same time she made the New York Times bestseller list she also published an academic work which sold 400 copies, delighting Oxford University Press.[3]" and the title "A Third Career?". All the information is solid and cited well but the article seems to me too slanted. Someone knowledgeable on Dr. Bly please fix this article. Scskowron 19:58, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Neutrality
editArticle does not appear to be neutral (unfounded adjectives), additional citations are needed, many citations point to the subject's personal website rather than reputable third parties — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.216.145.252 (talk) 06:05, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

Neutrality Fixes
editHi - I'm new to this so pardon me as I am still learning.
I have made some edits to her page to fix neutrality issues.

"Consuming London" removed
editI have removed the reference to a book called Consuming London. Though this was uncited in the text, it is clearly derived from this article, which is the only reference to it on the internet (as a book) other than Wikipedia and its mirrors--there is no Worldcat entry for such a title. However, Bly did give a talk at the University of Michigan by this title, as you can see here. I suspect that the author of the Post article was confused, perhaps not being familiar with academic genres. blameless 02:57, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
