Although there are many examples of incentive based schemes to promote reductions of emissions there is currently no overarching vocabulary that I can find for discussing them in total.
This is an important issue which I have had many conversations about in my professional capacity as an Environmental Accountant and community organiser trying to promote these ideas.
The term 'Emissions Reduction Currency Systems' was a term suggested to me by an Academic - Dr. Sally Paulin at the School of Sustainable Development at Murdoch University in Western Australia.
If anyone else out there has a better term for this I would appreciate the edit - however I have tried to be precise in my definition so that it can be accepted in terms of other concepts already published.
