Re: "While Psycho III was the one that actually ended the Psycho series (Norman finally defeating his mother), the later sequel-prequel Psycho IV: The Beginning completely ignored the two previous sequels, so Mrs. Spool is never mentioned in it." - I not sure this is completely true. Psycho IV has Norman saying it was only a few years ago that he last murdered, and that line places it in the present not long after Psycho III. It acknowledges him going through more therapy to get over his illness. But the film focuses on how Norman became Norman and to be honest, Mrs. Spool had no part in shaping who Norman became as she had no control over how Norma would act in raising Norman as her own. Had Norma Bates not been horrible to Norman, Norman would have been normal, and the events of the entire series would have played out very differently. And I think the movie is wise to focus on what Norman remembers - life with Norma. To deal with the Mrs. Spool storyline would have made the film longer and would have covered ground that Psycho II and III already dealt with. Psycho IV is "the beginning" so I think it is justified in not dealing with Mrs. Spool, from the point of view of Norman's memories.

Norman's age in 1949

If Norman was born in 1935, he'd be in his 14th year in 1949. Not 15, as the article shows. GoodDay (talk) 15:30, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Baby/Infant or child?

In the original Psycho, Norman said that his father died when he was five (or six as he said in Psycho IV: The Beginning). But in Psycho III, Tracy Venable said to Norman "Emma Spool killed your father in a jealous rage and kidnapped you when you were just a baby". So was he an infant when his father died or five/six years old? If he was five/six, then Venable must have meant "child" when she said "baby".
