editHi Mercury McKinnon, you work for GMA Network, right? I noticed that this article was copied in verbatim by the iGMA.tv site.[1] I think that iGMA.tv should indicate that this article is released under GNU Free Documentation License. To the administrators, please do not delete this because it is the original text. iGMA.tv just copied it from here. This article was first written in the Encantadia article and was separated when that article grew. --Jojit fb 05:52, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Enchanta's song
editHello. I removed the Hade lyrics all over again because of the following reasons: 1. Hade was recorded in 2006 for the TV show Encantadia. Therefore, since 2006, the copyright owner of the song is GMA Network (which holds the royalty for Encantadia series) as well as the composer itself. 2. According to Wikipedia:LYRICS#Copyright-expired_works, generally, copyrights are expired if the song was published before January 1, 1923 (or at least 95 years before the current year). If we'll take this as a basis, for Hade to be exempted from copyright, this must be published about 87 years ago (for the 1923) or 1915 the latest (which is 95 years ago). Either case, Hade does not qualify because it was only published about 3 years ago. 3. Okay, so I don't know if the composer's identity was disclosed by GMA but the two things are true if it was disclosed or not:
- According to Philippine Intellectual Property Code:
- a. If the composer's name is anonymous, then, copyright will be expired 50 years after it's publication. (Art. XVI, Section 213.3). If the composer is anonymous, then it is allowable to publish here in Wikipedia on 2056.
- b. If the author is known, then the copyright will expire about 50 years after the author's death. (Art. XVI, Section 213.2)
So, in any of the case above, posting Hade lyrics is an absolute copyright violation from the copyrights of the composer and the song of the owner. Even though it is an excerpt (which is unlikely except that you only add ellipsis), then it is still under copyright. I suggest you to mention only the nature of the song.
To have a linguistic example for the language, you must build example. Do not use the copyrighted song as an example.--JL 09 q?c 16:25, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, due to the scarcity of published sources, the song is the only reliable source material easily available online. Denying the use of any of it is detrimental to the article. I added ellipses, yes, but if you read carefully, they (the ellipsed version) are broken phrase taken from the song, not the song itself, so I doubt that violates copyright. Besides isn't building one Original research?--[[User:Buhay Tao|Buhay Tao (ᜊᜓᜑᜌ᜔ ᜆᜂ)]] ([[User talk:Buhay Tao|Buhay Tao (ᜊᜓᜑᜌ᜔ ᜆᜂ)]]) (talk) 16:44, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Vocabulary and sample sentences
editTo the anonymous user(s) who keep(s) adding huge sections with vocabulary and sample texts: as I already explained twice in the edit summary, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an indiscriminate collection of all information available about a subject. This article is supposed to be about Enchanta, i.e. what it is, who made it, what it is used for, how it works, etc. It is not intended to serve as a manual for potential users of the language. A short fragment (one or a few sentences) to give the reader an idea of the language is fine, but an entire conversations guide is out of the question. Likewise, a section about vocabulary should discuss what words are based on, how they are formed and the like, and give a few relevant examples, but it should definitely not contain an entire dictionary. Remember: Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal. That type of information belongs in a book or on a website, which can then be linked to in the External links or References section. Alternatively, you might consider using Wikibooks for it. Please consider, however, that you cannot simply copy information from a website or another wiki, because that would be copyright infringement.
Let me also remind you that Edit warring is not allowed here. I you believe that the disputed information is necessary for the quality of the article and not in violation of policies, you should use this talk page here to demonstrate that with arguments. Repeatedly undoing other people's edits is not the way. Thanks. —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 08:52, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
P.S. If you want to improve the article, there are plenty of other things that need work. First of all, the article is poorly sourced. Both news articles cannot be retrieved and appear to be about the show rather than about the language. On the other hand, statements like "The source material of the language appears to have been derived from Philippine languages (particularly Tagalog) and Romance languages" and "It has its own script, Enchan, which appears to be based on Baybayin" really require references. In addition, the article gives practically no information about the language itself: zero info about phonology, orthography, grammar etc., and it is not even made clear whether Enchanta has any of these things at all. For all I can see, it might as well a matter of randomly picked words and sounds. Even for the sample sentences I cannot find a single source, at least on the Internet. That's another reason why I removed the vocabulary list, the numbers and the remaining samples sentences: the only places where these things can be found are somebody's Facebook pages and a wiki. Neither are reliable sources. —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 11:14, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
P.P.S. Aha, and another thing is that the article currently doesn't even make it clear what the name of the language is, Enchanta or Enchan. —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 11:34, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
