It may have been used in EI1, but EI2 does not use the "ae" ligature. Masarra 23:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

editSome of the authors such as B Lewis, and Gibb... aren't they critics of Islam? What is the general concensus regarding the "Encyclopaedia of Islam" amongst muslims and scholars? Faro0485 (talk) 19:51, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
First written encyclopedia
editI read somewhere in Jalal al Ahmad's book that this encyclopedia was the first written in the West. Is this true and if so please add the information to the page's content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.58.95.81 (talk) 02:18, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
