untitled thread
editCan a person be considered "an enemy of the state" to a nation of which he is not a citizen? Can an American be "an enemy of the state" in China or France?
- Yes, although an enemy of the state may also typically be a citizen. Any state could deem or treat any individual as an "enemy of the state". 203.198.237.30 02:55, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Proper EL is to disambig
editI don't get into edit wars so didn't push the fact that the top of the name and meme space is "Enemy of <X>" where X varies, a metalinguistic formula and so the disambig page was the proper link. 72.228.177.92 (talk) 20:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Books with title
editBooks google search] shows a couple bios with that tile and some other nonfiction and fiction titles. And there's the movie. More to add but busy today. Feel free to get going on that :-) CarolMooreDC - talkie talkie🗽 14:55, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Debating an example
editI wish to call the content of this example into question:
"Leaker of U.S. diplomatic cables Chelsea Manning was charged with (but ultimately acquitted of) "communicating with the enemy," implying that U.S. military prosecutors considered WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, to whom Manning leaked the documents, an enemy of the US government.[3]"
It was my understanding that the charge referred to the fact that copies of the leaked documents were found in the Bin Laden compound when it was raided. LostCause231 (talk) 09:20, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
