The article could stand to have some discussion added regarding perceived advantages of gels over other things. For example, what makes a gel better than biting into an energy bar, or drinking something? Is the gel format a way to get the necessary energy into the body quicker, or is it more a logistics issue (i.e. it's easier to squeeze a tube of goo into your mouth while running than having to slow down to deal with a water/gatorade bottle or unwrapping a chocolate bar). 68.146.233.86 (talk) 21:57, 24 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
