Just a few comments on the photo. It is placed centrally, a facility suitable for landscape-shape photos. Attempts to weave the words round the photos are not satisfactory. The reason for the relative prominence of the photograph is because it is not simply decorative; it is as much part of the substantive content of the article as the prose. The line-up of these early groups is almost as important as the music they played; indeed, the instrumentation was chosen for the music.
