The result of the move request was: moved.
This proposal is made and supported on the basis of consistency with the name of the genus, which was moved with unanimous support on 12 September 2021. The sole opposing editor argues that the genus is Sinorhizobium based on a single RS, but this is contrary to the established consensus at Ensifer (bacterium).(non-admin closure) Havelock Jones (talk) 12:25, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Sinorhizobium medicae → Ensifer medicae – Senior synonym should be used. Refer to argument used in recent mover of the genus page Ensifer. YorkshireExpat (talk) 15:35, 13 September 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 20:56, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Sinorhizobium medicae is retained as genus name in Genome Taxonomy Database [1] Disagree with proposed move. If my wikicode is deficient, this is my first participation in a discussion--KMJones microbio (talk) 04:27, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- @KMJones microbio: Forgive me, I've edited your comment with the commonly used wikicode, an asterix and your judgement in bold. Would you consider changing your opinion based on [2]. It seems the name Sinorhizobium was deprecated in favour of Ensifer, but the former is still often used erroneously in literature. Thanks. YorkshireExpat (talk) 19:43, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support - There is no good reason not to be consistent with the previous decision regarding the genus page. William Avery (talk) 14:50, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
