editThe statue got a mention in Foreign Policy, here. Should that be mentioned in the article? Yaan (talk) 10:53, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- That list doesn't consider the artistic values of the statues in it. It fails to explain why and how the listed statues are "ugly". The list rather pursues political criteria solely in the perception of its author. In his thinking the statue is "ugly" only because it is devoted to the "invader". editWhat is the statue made of? The article neglects to mention this. Looks like steel? Hairy Dude (talk) 17:22, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
URL broken
editThe http://www.genco-tour.mn/complex/chinggis-khan-statue-complex?lang=en URL is broken Ronbarak (talk) 17:07, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Mass murderer receiving mass adulation at mass cost by mass of population. Mass of people elsewhere apathetic.
editCeaușescu, Saddam Hussein overthrown. What is the first action of the inhabitants? If a statue of Hitler was erected in Germany today every one in Wikipedia would use their virtual pencils in incandescent denunciations. Where today are the plethora of giant statues of Lenin, Stalin and other creators of the marvellous "future" promised in 1917?
Contrast this with the creation of a colossal statue of, a person who, by the standards applied to the people mentioned above, must rank as the nastiest, most successful mass murderer in history. I award this title because Ghengis Khan had, by the standards of the twentieth century, more limited resources.
Yet I search the internet in vain for criticism of this project. I am feeling alone in the universe, everyone else feels providing they have been dead long enough, you can worship any ****. AnnaComnemna (talk) 07:33, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Location
editThe info box says the statue is located in Erdene, Tov. But Google maps as well as the Geohack coordinates show that it's located inside Ulanbataar, about 5000 feet west of the boundary line. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C3:4001:E5D0:2042:3013:F41B:75D5 (talk) 07:36, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Why is there no picture of the statue itself?
editThis article currently has no clear image of the statue itself, which seems very strange. A quick search found plenty of good pictures with what should be acceptable licenses, like https://libreshot.com/genghis-khan-equestrian-statue/ 206.174.108.50 (talk) 19:17, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
