CCG-5901

edit

This new class of ship should be added to the article.

China anchored one of its two “monster” coast guard ships...
Displacing 12,000 tons and with a length of 541 feet, CCG-5901 is three times the size of the United States Coast Guard’s main patrol vessels, the National Security Cutters - leading many observers to refer to the Chinese vessel as “The Monster.”

Zhaotou-class

edit

The entry says this is the largest coast guard ship in the world. That's incorrect. The largest is the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent at 15324 tons, or just over 3000 tons heavier than the Zhaotou-class. Sorry I'm not signed in, not at my primary computer. Will come back later and put my own name (Urban Terrorist) on it.

I should also probably mention that Canada has a couple of 26,000 ton monsters on order, the Arpatuuq class. Those two monsters will have enough strength and power to crash through the hull of an Iowa Class battleship -- the damned things are Polar 2+ rated. Not much slows a Polar Class 2 ship down except a rock cliff. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.158.113.11 (talk) 04:19, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
