Removed unreferenced bio section that also had material c/p from http://www.ticketfly.com/event/131243/. Needs better references for a WP:BLP. Mjpresson (talk) 03:59, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Contesting of unnecessary deletion of factually accurate material
editYes. I would like to file a complaint. I recently inserted the information into this article that Eric Andre is a delicious nappy-headed high yella brotha. Said information contributes to the scholarly value of this encyclopedia article because this is self-evidently factually accurate information. One look at Eric Andre confirms that he is indeed a delicious nappy-headed high yella brotha. I hereby contest the deletion of my valuable contribution to said scholarly encyclopedia article. Thank you.

I completely agree, but the Wikipedia Information Justice Warriors will never allow that sadly. SlovonManob (talk) 22:41, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

He probably started dating Rosario Dawson in 2016.
editRosario Dawson said "This weekend marks a year that I had to get emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding from a ruptured cyst on my ovary. It was the first time I told @ericfuckingandre that I loved him (and very much not the last)." on an Instagram post dating September 6, 2017.Instagram
- That's not suggested by that post at all. Even if so, that'd be WP:SYNTHESIS and not allowed here. Refactored above comment from a ref to an external link. JesseRafe (talk) 18:19, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
From André to Andre
editSo the original name is "André" (French name). But when did it become "Andre"?
it was never André cause he’s Haitian and they just put it as that when his father immigrated ItsSugmaDique (talk) 18:49, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
"it was never André cause he’s Haitian" - French is the Official language in Haiti, so this does not explain the absence of the accent. I am too apathetic to do any research on his name, when the ` was added or removed, just saying that "cause he’s Haitian" means there is a better chance that it was there, not less of a chance. -- Billy Nair (talk) 19:37, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that the response given above is nonsense, but I think reputable sources might use both. It's a non-essential accent as anglophones will pronounce Andre and André the same and think of them both as equally "French", in essence, treat them identically, and so many publications would not bother to take the time to use the accent. It happens a lot in French words that are heavily borrowed, such as vis-a-vis. It will be hard to source the change unless the subject outright discusses it, so don't think it should be given too much stock. JesseRafe (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Andre himself does not use the accent. His show's title does not use the accent. The move was made without discussion and should be undone. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:01, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
Sexuality
editAndré has said in an interview that he would "fuck anything that moves." Source: https://www.towleroad.com/2016/08/eric-andre-bisexual/ 181.0.18.247 (talk) 01:14, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Should tags relating to his bisexuality be added to the external links? fishhead64 (talk) 04:48, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- He didn't explicitly state he identifies as bisexual. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:52, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know if this external link of an interview with Nardwuar the Human Serviette qualifies, but I was thoroughly convinced! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG9JbqcC-i8 fishhead64 (talk) 04:56, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- Pansexual seems more accurate term for what he states. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:03, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

Academic titles
editAs there is no standard at WP:MOS in regard to academic titles, I find it odd that when I cite two sources for stylizing academic titles that these are overruled with a comment that, to paraphrase, "it's unclear how these apply to Wikipedia articles." On what basis is bachelor of music capitalized if not for a substantiated method or style of capitalization?
And referencing the Wiki article on Bachelor of Arts doesn't help, because that's an article that a) doesn't provide MOS guidance and b) may itself be incorrect. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 15:05, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Capitalize. Drmies (talk) 18:36, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Capitalise (with an s, because I'm British, and yah boo stinks to Oxford). Ngram indicates capitalised version has been significantly more common since the 1820s. Girth Summit (blether) 18:45, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oops - did Batchelor of Arts instead of Batchelor of Music. The same trend holds true however. Girth Summit (blether) 19:04, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- And if spelled without the "t," it's even more disparate...wow! DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 11:39, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- Capitalize. It is a proper name for a specific thing capitalized that way. See article Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science and articles for other bachelor degrees. Consider it de facto stylization standard for Wikipedia to be consistent if for no other reason. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:50, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm here to respond to the 3O request, but there are well more than two editors involved at this point so it's no longer really a 3O situation. Just for the record, though, I also agree it should be capitalized. 🍉◜◞ↂ🄜e𝚜𝚘𝚌𝚊r🅟ම𛱘🥑《 𔑪talk〗⇤ 21:27, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Poor Benjamin Britten. Must've been really tough being gay during the timeframe of his life. Being in the arts probably helped some, but discrimination was rampant even so.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:38, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
