Issues with article

The article is about a non-notable figure, who is not known outside of certain fringe circles. The sources reflect this, in that there are barely any high quality sources referenced, if any: Reason and Fox are not reliable for facts, especially not facts about BLP subjects, the official website is a primary source and therefore not allowed (in fact, it being referenced suggests that this article may be promotional in nature), and the remaining sources are news articles about a story that since has rotated out of the news cycle. And that is saying nothing about the weasel words used in sentences that are attributed the exact same one or two non reliable sources. 46.97.170.152 (talk) 09:32, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Reason and Fox News are both considered reliable sources, the former for news and facts, and the latter for factual reporting not related to politics and science. —Torchiest talkedits 01:12, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You sound like an anonymous troll. Eric July had a $3 million US pre-order sale on his first graphic novel, and his second is at this point at $1.6 million and the pre-order sale is still going. This is quite notable as the US comic book market is in the dump. Emb021 (talk) 17:37, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's odd that these claims aren't in any media not sourcing it from The Blaze - I looked through all sources I could find. If he really outdid Marvel and DC, we'd expect to see that being noted independently of fringe media, I'd think.
Fox is not an RS, and certainly isn't up to BLP muster. Nor is The Blaze, a WP:GUNREL source that would at best count as a primary source. (I've removed the WP:GUNREL sources per WP:BLP.) The Reason article is an interview, so it's just claims from July. I searched on "Eric July" and "Eric D. July" and found no RS coverage - even fringe sources and blogs are sparse. Where are the independent third-party RSes on this guy? We require those for a BLP to exist on Wikipedia and pass WP:NCREATOR - David Gerard (talk) 19:21, 10 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, Charlie. Fox News is considered a reliable source. The supposed knock against them when it comes to politics and science (almost certainly Wikipedia editors conflating their news and opinion departments) was also not conclusively proven. So, for Wikipedia, Fox News is completely a reliable source concerning non-political or science material. As for other "reliable sources", it's interesting how certain people can be disappeared just by not talking about them. "If he really outdid Marvel and DC, we'd expect to see that being noted independently of fringe media, I'd think." Not if they don't want to talk about it or let it be known. Kind of like what you're trying to do here. You don't have to be a consipracy theorist to know that mainstream media controls the narrative and chooses who to ignore and who to give attention. It's well documented. (Probably not among those "reliable sources", though.) You know it's true. So, get off your high horse. He's as notable as half the articles on Wikipedia. Leave it be.128.151.71.7 (talk) 18:17, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
As has been said before, Fox News is reliable for facts such as sales figures. I don't know why you think all the sales figures are sourced to the Blaze. What makes you think that? Reason and the Dallas Observer both reliable sources, do in depth interviews that establish notability. That's how WP:GNG works. Those RSes consider July notable enough to profile and interview. —Torchiest talkedits 03:21, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

The publishing company already has entries that includes Chuck Dixon, Mike Baron and Ethan van Sciver.

Or let's put it another way. What's the criteria we are waiting to meet? T-man (talk) 07:02, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
