Problems with the article
editThere's a COI issue and a lot of promotion here. This is going to take some work.
- I took out the claim of "Sheriff of the Internet". That only appears in a blog and a PR video. Per Wired, Microsoft is the Sheriff of the Internet if anybody is.[1].
- "Honorary Ph.D from Vatterott College"? That's a trade school. "Vatterott College - Trades, Medical, Auto, & Tech Programs". They don't grant any degree higher than an associates degree. The cite is to the article subject's own self-published eBook.
- Called Lorain Community College to check on "professor" status. His contract was as an "instructor". Changed article accordingly.

- Removed more material based on self-published sources. Still more to do. John Nagle (talk) 18:43, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Removed additional promotional content. DigitalQuill (talk) 12:34, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Game development career
editThe subject of the article claims to have been involved with a game called "Elven Heroes", and a sequel, "Elven Quest". I can't find any reference to the first, even on the developer's site. The second has a talking-head video of Vandenberg about how great it's going to be. That was in 2010.[2] There's no indication of any progress whatsoever since. No blog updates, no screenshots, nothing. There's a 2010 promo video for the game.[3] It says "Available 2011 on Facebook". Some of the artwork shown in the video is from Dimitri Savanoff work in 2002 [4] who is not listed as associated with the game project. I suggest deleting that whole section from the article. --John Nagle (talk) 20:49, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- Other game art for "Elven Quest" shown at [5] is from "World of Warcraft Templates".[6] John Nagle (talk) 21:46, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- Deleted game development section due to above problems, per WP:V. John Nagle (talk) 07:35, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- I think the whole section could be removed. The section is not related to the rest of the career and these pursuits are all volunteer, with one game presumably never being produced. Professornova (talk) 20:00, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Remove "Viewpoints" section?
editShould the "Viewpoints" section, which seems to be a WP:COATRACK for self-published material, be removed? --John Nagle (talk) 20:28, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- No one has objected, so I removed the "Viewpoints" section. John Nagle (talk) 21:54, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
