@Chubbles:, I'm alright with re-direct but do you have a credible source corroborating the claim Erol Alkan owns/established Phantasy (record label)? Something that's not self-published or bloggy. We can't just connect people with things without proper source, so, if this can't be shown, the other article which you proposed to be merged here should be deleted. @Chubbles:, so I found the source that was barely able to verify that, so I re-directed it. Everything else in the other article was unsourced, so I didn't carry any over. Graywalls (talk) 19:14, 29 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I understand the logic here, no major objection other than the insta-reversion of my ABOUTSELF addition. It's not very useful to the reader to merely be informed of the existence of the label; the reader should also know what the label does, i.e., it should say something about what artists it releases. The information is not contentious in terms of verifiability, and simply naming artists the label releases, particularly if they already have articles here, is not unduly promotional. That addition should be restored. Chubbles (talk) 07:24, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I undid it, because I feel it falls short on "The material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim;
Neither of those holds much water. It is not self-serving to make mere mention of the artistic association between Alkan and the bands on the label, and a claim about who's signed to Alkan's label is a claim that is, in part, about Alkan. The fact that it also mentions people other than Alkan could result in an ABOUTSELF issue if this were anywhere even remotely near to a real BLP issue, but there isn't - this is routine, bone-dry, matter-of-fact data.
