It appears to refer to the beetle's bright coloration being pleasing to the eye, cf. handsome fungus beetle. Dforest (talk) 23:36, 29 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

We have a red link to the genus Platycladoxena, which is probably invalid and correct one should be Thallisellodes or Bolerus--Estopedist1 (talk) 06:11, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
