First, "Erwin" is a typical German name; second, his son John Bannister was born in Jena, Germany. Therefore I suppose that Goodenough's parents have a German background. The US census might help enlightening this biographical chapter. --Kolya (talk) 08:26, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
