Talk:Essex, Massachusetts

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Is this appropriate to add under the Transportation section: Ipswich Essex Explorer provides weekend service during the summer connecting with the MBTA Commuter Rail at Ipswich, as well as providing service to Crane Beach and other nearby attractions.

I had added it earlier, but it was deleted since it did "not comply with our guidelines for external links". I noticed most other town/city web pages have a transportation section that includes highways as well as public transit. Is the issue here that the Ipswich Essex Explorer a weekend-only seasonal service? I have no affiliation with Ipswich Essex Explorer or the MBTA, which are both government sponsored non-profit services. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tjmather (talkcontribs) 20:24, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think it's perfectly reasonable to add. If someone complains that it doesn't meet the guidelines for external links, you may want to add it back in without the external link. (You may want to mention that it's a bus service, too.) AJD (talk) 01:23, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Distance from Boston?

edit

In the introduction the town is described as being 26 miles (42 km) north of Boston. However, in the Geography and Transportation section it is described as being 33 miles (53 km) northeast of Boston. That is quite a discrepancy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.125.53.179 (talk) 23:04, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
