Total size of of Estonian Rifles
edit"The newly formed Estonian Red Army had concentrated 80,000 men, 200 field and 230 machine guns supported by 5 armored trains. The Estonian Red Army gained the Setomaa, Vastseliina, and Räpina Parishes by March 15, 1919"
Very strange claim; are you sure that there's no mess here? 80 000 could be more realistic for all of the Soviet forces against Estonia at moment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.190.28.42 (talk) 08:10, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, that seems to be confused with the total size of the Soviet forces. --Martintg (talk) 05:08, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Its just absolute nonsense, 80,000 was total Red Army force massed against Estonia at that time. Also it was very significant part of total Red Army forces on western front(reducing pressure on south at Latvia, Lithuania and Poland) as Estonia had been first to repell its forces. In total there were about 6000 Estonians in Red Army, although I dont know how many of them were in Estonian Rifles, nor what was general ethnic composition of Estonian Rifles.--Staberinde (talk) 15:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Bad/dubious sourcing
editThe article seems to be largely based on more than dubious sources, i.e. forum and newsgroups posts, abstracts of the articles and document discussing playing cards (!), marxists.org. Some of the claims seem to be somewhat strange as well, but I cannot claim to be an expert on the topic. --Sander Säde 16:01, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Furthermore, it is almost certainly a creation of permblocked hoax-writing sockmaster Bloomfield (talk · contribs) (probably Tõnu Trubetsky), this time as Saidelson (talk · contribs). --Sander Säde 16:05, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- No matter who has created it, poorly and dubiously sourced material must go. --Jaan Pärn (talk) 19:23, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
