Too many quotes

Anyone else think these blockquotes should be paraphrased? ---Ilovetopaint (talk) 13:21, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I do. per MOS:QUOTE While quotations are an indispensable part of Wikipedia, try not to overuse them. Using too many quotes is incompatible with an encyclopedic writing style and may be a copyright infringement. It is generally recommended that content be written in Wikipedia editors' own words. Consider paraphrasing quotations into plain and concise text when appropriate (while being aware that close paraphrasing can still violate copyright).-- Work permit (talk) 13:30, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
What means "too many"? When are they considered "overused"? After five quotes? Eight? Ten? I guess it depends on the size of the article text. --RivetHeadCulture (talk) 15:19, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

3O Response: Agreed. Most of those quotes seem non-illustrative or puffery; they don't add a lot of meaningful information. Feel free to paraphrase or trim them. If you don't feel up to it, you can tag the top of the article with {{copy edit|for=paraphrasing quotes}} or list it at copy editing requests. – Reidgreg (talk) 15:27, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

The quotes are fine. Thank you. They corroborate the written word. That's important because of Wikipedia's lack of street credibility. --RivetHeadCulture (talk) 14:28, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

All of the quotes should be paraphrased in a smooth manner -- articles of this length are not supposed to be peppered with several blockquotes.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 04:30, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

I disagree. Paraphrased quotes can't be recognized easily as quotes by most of the readers. You probably don't understand the problem. --RivetHeadCulture (talk) 01:46, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
