Many of the articles within the Africa series are sub-standard, badly researched or just plain bizarre. Why is this the case and when will somebody bring them up to par? I am not really able contribute, but I know a trite article when I see one. The article about African philosophy is by far the most risible.

Not Encyclopedic Content

edit

This article is an unreferenced, informal etiquette how-to guide, such as might appear in a traveler's guidebook or a magazine article, not an encyclopedic treatment of African etiquette. Please improve it to be more academic and encyclopedic if you can. Kwertii (talk) 21:09, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

This article is written from a North American (to be specific US) perspective where they incorrectly assume Africa and Africans as a homogenous entity. It fails to recognise that there are hundreds of ethnic groups in the continent and the groups differ (sometimes very significantly) in their views and in this instance etiquette. Sometime etiquette differs within one country. Such topics of lumping the peoples of a continent, 50 plus countries and hundreds of ethnic groups are always inaccurate, wrong, at times insulting and should be discouraged.
